One day they nailed Him to die on the tree; Suffering anguish, despised and rejected; Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He.” The chorus gives the summation: “Living He loved me, dying He saved me, buried he carried my sins far away. Rising he justified freely forever; One day he’s coming; O glorious day.” The victorious resurrection had to be preceded by the anguish and horror of the cross and the tomb. The only way to Sunday was through Friday.
I hope we can take time today to reflect on the reality of what Jesus did for us when He willingly gave Himself as our substitute and paid our sin-debt on the cross. Praise God He didn’t remain in the grave, but rather He conquered death ensuring that because He lives, we too shall live. We wish you a most blessed Easter weekend.
