A coalition of liberal groups has decided that they should prescribe sex education for the public schools. This coalition includes SIECUS, the notorious Sexuality Information and Education Council, the National Education Association, and Planned Parenthood, among others. Here are some examples of what they call “age-appropriate” lessons recommended in the report.

Sex ed must start in Kindergarten by teaching kids to show respect for different kinds of family structures. We all know what that means; this report is not talking just about the traditional American family. Kids in Grades 3, 4 and 5 will be given descriptions of male and female reproductive systems, including body parts and their functions. That’s not all. Grades 3, 4 and 5 will be taught to define sexual orientation as romantic attraction toward someone of the same gender or a different gender.

In Grades 6,7 and 8, students will be taught to differentiate between gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. They will be asked to explain the range of gender roles, to define sexual intercourse, and how to use a condom correctly. They will also be taught to define the “morning after” bill and explain its use. In grades 9 to 12, students will be taught to advocate for school policies and programs that promote respect for all, how to access information about contraception, emergency contraception, and STD and HIV testing and treatment services.

It’s long been the policy of the National Education Association that public schools should have the right to teach children whatever the schools want and parents have no right to object. Parents, if this is not what you want the public schools to teach your children, you had better act fast and speak up.
