A new study from The Times focused on Generation Z found that young adults today are twice as in favor of marriage than young adults twenty years ago, when almost thirty-nine percent of that age group viewed marriage as irrelevant. In 2004, nearly eighty percent of Millennials considered “one-night stands” to be common practice. Now, only twenty-three percent feel this way. These findings indicate that traditional views are making a comeback and marriage rates could soon be on the rise.
Experts suggest that young people opening up to marriage may view it as a “strategy” to getting better access to healthcare, housing, and even financial security. The economic benefits of marriage are undeniable, but the joy and fulfillment of a God-honoring union is vastly superior to any of those perks. We hope young people soon realize that and embark on the journey.
