Biblical creationists like me believe that God created kinds—not species—of organisms with a huge amount of genetic variability built into their genes. After the global flood, as these kinds spread through the earth, they adapted to different environments, usually by losing information. What I’ve just described is natural selection.
Now, a lot of people believe it’s the same thing as evolution. But according to evolutionary ideas, one kind changes into another kind. That requires a gain of information, but natural selection reduces information. Evolution and natural selection are actually opposites!
