The numbers of lawsuits, court cases, court rulings, and nationwide injunctions brought against the Trump Administration is staggering. In the quarter century, 111 injunctions have been issued against presidential administrations, and Donald Trump has been the recipient of almost 75% of them. If you’re wondering just how Trump could receive such lopsided legal treatment, consider the left’s legal litigation strategy: location, location, location! Democrats are blatantly “forum-shopping” to pick the most one-sided venues they can find.
On just the first Monday of May, nearly two dozen Democrat state attorneys general filed three new lawsuits against Trump. Despite how these states span the country from coast-to-coast, every one of their suits was filed in New England federal district courts, where the district and appellate judges are nearly entirely Democrat-appointed. This northeast venue is even more partisan than the Ninth Circuit, based in San Francisco. Even there, Trump was able to appoint ten of the 29 appellate judges in his first term.
These venue-specific suits touch on a wide variety of leftist priorities. One of the cases seeks to block Trump’s executive orders protecting our environment against ugly, clanking offshore wind turbines. These are just a boondoggle that clog up our beaches and never deliver the energy of offshore drilling.
Another suit in Rhode Island represents twenty Democrat states attempting to block the Secretary of Health and Human Services, RFK Jr., from downsizing HHS and laying off federal employees. Rhode Island is hundreds of miles away from where the HHS employees work. Yet another lawsuit attempts to block Trump’s executive order improving election integrity, properly ordering that federal funding be withheld from states that count mail-in ballots not received until after Election Day.
We are, however, not without hope, as the Fourth Circuit and others have delivered appellate victories for Trump. He has also gotten reprieve at times (though very specifically) from the Supreme Court.
The left knows all too well how to rig this game of litigation, and it’s good to see the Trump Administration knows how to fight back!
