Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty recently released a statement calling for Governor Evers to include Wisconsin in a new education scholarship program. Created through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the program is funded completely by private donors who receive federal tax credits when they give to certified Scholarship Granting Organizations. The scholarships have a higher income cap to determine eligibility than our current voucher programs and quite possibly could be distributed to students in all school settings, including homeschools.
While the details of this program have not yet been established, in theory this scholarship program is a great opportunity for Wisconsin families. Education freedom requires programs that empower parents to make the best choices for their children. Our state has made important strides in its school choice efforts; Governor Evers should include our state in this program.
