In reality, these practices are a slippery slope that violates the sanctity of life as those with mental health struggles or chronic pain are ushered to their death rather than treated. Quebec Canada proves this to be true. Canada has taken the lives of thousands of patience through their euthanasia program, but in Quebec euthanasia accounted for for 7.9% of all deaths between 2024 and 2025.
