In an article from Navigators, a Christian ministry that shares the gospel of Jesus and helps people grow in Christ, the authors present twelve activities for parents to use this Thanksgiving season to instill in their children an attitude of thankfulness. They recommend Scripture-focused family activities such as telling stories and acting them out, sharing Christian songs, making lists of things to be thankful for, and intentionally recognizing God’s goodness. For families to do for others, they suggest adopting a missionary to bless and actively expressing gratitude.
These are excellent recommendations. Intentionally seeking ways to express gratitude as a family is a key component for families to grow closer to God and each other this Thanksgiving season. We hope your family can use some of these suggestions or create ideas of your own to do the same.
