Last week, the Wisconsin State Senate passed the Defining Abortion Bill bringing it one step closer to being signed into law. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in twenty twenty-two, pro-abortion lobbyists have claimed that regulating abortion would deny women life-saving care in cases of miscarriages, molar pregnancies, and ectopic pregnancies. This bill would clear up this misconception by stating that these unintentional tragic losses are not abortions.

The unintentional loss of a pregnancy and abortion are not the same. If our state officials really care about women and clarity in medical care, they should support this legislation. This commonsense bill must still be passed in the Assembly. Unfortunately, Governor Evers has already stated he would veto the bill.
