Today is Memorial Day—the day we remember and commemorate those who through the years have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country—specifically members of the military who have died in the various wars. It is altogether appropriate that we observe this day in some way that shows that we are aware of and grateful for the sacrifices that have been made so that we can enjoy freedom and unprecedented prosperity today. Freedom is never free; someone is always paying the price.

Commemorate Memorial Day by attend a parade or service. Take some youngsters to a local cemetery and place a flower on the grave of veterans. Talk about how all military service requires some measure of sacrifice. Lead your family in prayer for our current military and their families and thanking God for the blessing and privilege of living in America.
