Like a tidal wave, great fear is sweeping our country and nations all over the world. The crises are
intensifying and becoming more numerous.
We fear the many tragic occurrences going on in the world and wonder, “what could be next?” There is fear regarding the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the growing aspirations of Iran for a
nuclear weapon, a growing hatred of Israel, the rising of Communist China, and North Korea re-
activating nuclear facilities. We fear whether we will be engaged in worldwide war once again and
ponder, “Will the United States ever be able to stand up militarily as it once did?” “Will active
persecution come to the U.S. as it is taking place in so many other nations?”
Years ago, we were told to fear global cooling and the coming Ice Age that would be upon us. When
that did not come to pass we were told to fear global warming. We were warned that ocean waters
would rise, swallowing islands and collapsing coastal cities around the world. And because the so-
called experts did not get that right we were told to fear the generic global climate change. Subtly at
first, but purposely and openly later, executive orders have been issued and city councils are ruling to
advance the sustainable development goals of Agenda 2030. The fear of such horrendous things
happening to our planet allows the powerful elites to gain control of the populace as they fly around the
world on their private jets instilling more fear of carbon emissions and the threats facing the planet. Fear is promoted through our educational systems and is endorsed by major media and Hollywood
celebrities that unless we take drastic steps in curbing personal freedom, the sky will fall and civilization
will end as we know it. The fear of climate change ushers in control by governing bodies. Some wish
to advocate “climate change” as a “public health crisis.”
We are told to “fear COVID-19” and so we are told to “mask up, no you’d better make it two masks, or
better yet, three.” We’ve been told to fear gatherings and so church services were cancelled, spectator
sports were disallowed, weddings were put on hold, family gatherings were halted, hospital visitation
and nursing home visits were curtailed and many funerals were limited to immediate family. Children
were forbidden in certain areas from using playgrounds or going out to play with their neighborhood
friends. The fear of COVID advanced control like never before seen in our nation.
Next it was the shot. Great fear has been instilled to take the jab or risk losing your life. One shot
would not be enough, so the second shot must be administered. Now a third shot is necessary to
maintain an acceptable rating on a vaccine passport. Discussion is going on now of required booster
shots every 5-8 months. Government and employer mandates are rapidly advancing and now
individuals resistant to the mandates fear losing their jobs, their pensions, their health insurance, their
personal freedom, and so much more.
Yet, others warn of devastating consequences if one does take the jab. Openvaers.com/covid-data
reports the latest number of deaths, life threatening conditions, tens of thousands of hospitalizations,
heart attacks, miscarriages, and the thousands left permanently disabled by taking the injection. Fear
and panic sets in as individuals are left wondering “what do I do?”
We live in fear of food shortages, gas shortages, business closures and spiking inflation.
Fear can be and is very controlling. Maybe you have been taken captive by fear or perhaps even
paralyzed by it. You may wonder, “How do I deal with the fear that is controlling my thoughts, my
family and my daily life?”
It’s critical to recognize the source of fear and realize this fear is not from God, “For God hath not given
us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7)
It is also critical that we recognize Who we ought to fear. “And fear not them which kill the body, but
are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
(Matthew 10:28) So much of our fear stems from matters linked to mankind, but instead it is God who
we ought to fear and it is God to whom we must surrender, and it is God to whom we are accountable.
When plagued with fear it is critical to turn to the Lord and keep our eyes focused on Him. We must
recognize that God’s perfect plan is coming to fruition and has never and will never be sidelined by
COVID, climate change, or nations in conflict with one another. “What time I am afraid, I will trust in
thee.” (Psalm 56:3) Indeed the believer’s trust must confidently be placed in the Lord.
In times when great fear is being instilled upon the population, take time to get in God’s Word and
meditate upon the victory that comes from God. Consider these verses: “Fret not thyself because of
evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like
the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD…Commit thy way unto the LORD;…Rest in
the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass…For evildoers shall be cut off…For yet a little
while, and the wicked shall not be…The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his
teeth. The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out
the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright
conversation. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” (Excerpts
from Psalm 37:1-15)
Do not fear the world, but fear the God who made the world. It is Him we serve. It is to Him we must
be faithful, and it is His message we need to proclaim to a world consumed by fear. FEAR NOT!
