Earlier this week, I said that Christmas is over, but God’s eternal plan isn’t! You see, the penalty for sin is death, and because we’ve all sinned, we all deserve death! But from the beginning God promised a Savior.
This Messiah finally arrived as a baby, born of a virgin in the town of Bethlehem. Jesus, fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life and then went to the cross and died in our place. His perfect sacrifice paid the price for our sin. Then he rose again, but God’s plan isn’t finished! Jesus will come again and, at the consummation, make a new heavens and new earth, free from death, suffering, and pain.
