Events will be taking place all across our state and the country. But attending an event isn’t necessary to observe National Day of Prayer. Praying together as a family or with friends at lunch, or at a special prayer service at our church are all ways we can take part in this uniquely American observance.
While the law requires the president to issue a proclamation for National Day of Prayer, the law doesn’t force our participation. Our participation is voluntary, but our communities, state, and nation are surely in need of our prayers. The Bible gives us the principle for healing our land—Christians humble themselves, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways. Today’s a great day to intercede for our country.
