Social science research continues to showcase and reinforce the critical role fathers play in the lives of their children, starting in infancy. A study reported in Handbook of father involvement: Multidisciplinary perspectives reveals that when dads regularly engage in caretaking activities like bathing, feeding and playing with their babies, it boosts the child’s confidence and fosters stronger relationships later in life.
Dads interacting with their babies is beautiful to see. They do so differently from the way moms do, but that’s the way it’s supposed to be. It’s complementary child-rearing. Children need the direct involvement of both mom and dad to grow and develop into healthy individuals in every sense of the word. Dads, your direct involvement in the care of your little ones is irreplaceable!
