Almost half of all babies born in the U.S. were born to unmarried women in twenty nineteen….And it’s not because of divorce; today’s unpartnered mothers are also more likely to have never been married.” End quote. Creating families without fathers has consequences for the children—such, among other pathologies. as being much more likely to live in poverty and poor academic performance.
We celebrate fathers in June, but we need them every day of every month all year long. What we are seeing, once again, in so many of these fatherless situations is that adult desires are trumping the best interest of children. The bottom line is fathers matter, and children need their fathers.
