Data from the organization WeCount showed an average of about one hundred and thirty orders for abortion medication being shipped to our state from providers in other states each month from last September to this June. Assuming all the orders resulted in completed abortions, this could constitute about one-quarter of total abortions in the state.
Even in a state that allows horrific surgical abortions, medical abortion prescribed via telehealth is prohibited because even pro-choice politicians realize the risks are far too high for the mother. The legislature should find and fix the loophole that’s allowing this illegal practice that puts both women and the babies in their wombs in harm’s way.
