Alliance Defending Freedom announced last week that a federal district court in Kentucky issued a decision in State of Tennessee v. Cardona that blocks the Biden administration’s unlawful attempt to change the meaning of “sex” in Title Nine to include “gender identity.” Title Nine was designed to create equal opportunities for women in education and athletics and to protect them from sex-based discrimination. The district court ruling applies nationwide and to every part of the Biden Title Nine rule, meaning it is completely invalidated and unenforceable.
Wisconsin Family Action, our sister organization, was proud to sign onto a friend-of-the-court brief in this important case defending female athletes and women in academia. The Biden administration had no business attempting to redefine sex on a national level to include gender identity, and we’re glad the disastrous Title Nine rewrite was rejected by the district court.
