The left thrives on lies. We see this with the ongoing legal battle between pro-life scholars and Sage Publications. When the truth does not follow the narrative machine, they force it underground. Dr. James Studnicki and his colleagues, whose peer-reviewed studies on abortion drugs and emergency room visits garnered widespread attention, are now fighting to salvage their professional reputations. The College Fix reports that Sage retracted their articles under dubious circumstances.

This isn’t just an attack on the authors. It’s an assault on the scientific process. Pro-abortion authors face no such scrutiny, while pro-life scholars are subjected to discriminatory disclaimers and treated as second-class academics. This hypocrisy pervades academic publishing. Academia silences conservative perspectives.

The timing is no coincidence. One of the retracted studies, which linked abortion drugs to increased emergency room visits, was cited by a federal judge to block President Biden’s reckless deregulation of abortion pills. The left, unable to counter the data, resorted to silencing its authors. Sage’s alleged intent to cause “enormous and incalculable harm” to these scholars’ reputations is not only unethical but emblematic of a growing hostility toward dissent in academia.

Alliance Defending Freedom rightly calls this out as “bad science.” The research adhered to Sage’s editorial policies and passed a rigorous double-blind review. Yet, political bias trumped scientific integrity, proving that the left values ideology over truth.

This case is about more than one journal or one group of authors. It’s about preserving the integrity of science and the freedom to challenge prevailing narratives. Conservatives must stand firm against this creeping censorship. The scientific method relies on open inquiry, not ideological conformity. Without it, both science and liberty are at risk.
