Last week, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to protect children under the age of nineteen from gender transitions, stating that quote, “It is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.” The Order cites the risks of chemical and surgical mutilation, such as puberty blockers and any so-called “gender-affirming care” procedures.
We applaud this incredibly important action from President Trump. As the Order noted, these irreversible so-called “treatments” have lifelong consequences that the majority of children will come to regret in adulthood. Protecting the most vulnerable of society – children – is a foundational principle of our nation and we’re glad to see it upheld through this Order.
