This Friday begins National Marriage Week in the US. This week that recognizes the benefits of traditional or natural marriage urges communities and churches to promote the good that marriage brings to both the husband and wife and certainly to any children in the family unit. The week runs annual beginning on February 7 and culminating on Valentine’s Day, February 14. This year’s theme is “Pursuing a Lasting Love.” Visit marriageweek.org for more information and more ways to champion marriage.

For the past year, on the first Sunday of each month, my pastor has had all the couples married in that month in any year stand and be recognized. One month, we honored those married the longest. This month, all couples are encouraged to display their wedding picture in our lobby. We had dozens there this past Sunday! What an engaging way for a church to champion marriage!
