Last week, the WIAA banned biological males from participating in girls’ and women’s sports. Conservatives hail this as a common-sense decision that is a great move for the state, for women, and for women’s and girls’ sports in the Badger State. Wisconsin Family Council’s sister organization, Wisconsin Family Action, supported legislation last year that would have ensured the protection of women’s sports, as well as the privacy and safety of women in high school sports around Wisconsin. However, Governor Evers vetoed this bill.
We applaud this decision by the WIAA as they affirm directives from the Trump administration on this issue. Girls deserve to be safe, to have their privacy protected, and to have every opportunity to earn a spot on a team, to play for and gain championships, and to have equal access to athletic scholarships. This decision affirms all of that.
