According to The Federalist, the Urban Institute, which is not a right-wing think tank, recently published a study analyzing the long-term effects of Ohio’s original EdChoice Voucher Program. The authors found that when it came to college attendance, 64% of the scholarship recipients enrolled in higher education as compared to just 48% percent of those who remained in public schools. Voucher recipients were also significantly more likely to receive a bachelor’s degree within six years of completing high school.
The school choice movement began in Wisconsin and has paved the way for tens of thousands of Wisconsin families to choose the best school for their children. This study further confirms the positive impact these voucher programs have on students. We need to expand school choice here so more parents can exercise education freedom, helping ensure their children can reap these benefits.
