You may have heard about the Georgia woman being kept alive on life support so her unborn baby could live. The pregnancy made international headlines. Chance was just eight weeks along when his mother suffered blood clots in her brain. The decision to keep his mother Adriana alive until her baby boy could live outside the womb drew criticism. Nevertheless, it worked and little Chance was born weighing under two pounds and is now in the NICU. April Newkirk, his grandmother said “He’s expected to be ok. Just keep praying for him.” Chance was born just days before his mother turned thirty-one. She was taken off life support and died. I hope that Chance’s life will demonstrate to the critics the decision to protect this little boy’s life was the right one.
