USA Cycling is under scrutiny after the organization allowed a biological male to compete in the women’s fifty-five-and-older race held in Wisconsin last week. Competitors have accused USA Cycling of purposely concealing the man’s participation by omitting his name from the registration list. Debbie Milne, a long-time cycling competitor and participant in the race, expressed her frustration with the lack of transparency, and explained that she would not have spent the time or the money to compete if they had made their policies clear.

Men do not belong in women’s sports. The biological differences between men and women clearly demonstrate why co-participation in sports is both dangerous and unfair. Women deserve their own spaces where they can compete on a level playing field. Feelings do not change biological reality. Fortunately, the US Supreme Court has taken up a case on this very issue.
