Karen England, president of Capitol Resource Institute and founder of Take Back the Classroom, is sounding the alarm on inappropriate materials flooding public and school libraries. She is exposing how pornographic and sexually explicit books are now found not just in public libraries, but in elementary and middle school libraries across the country. England’s organization is building a searchable online database of more than 400 sexually graphic books stocked in school libraries. These include cartoon-style books that push radical gender ideology, graphic depictions of sex acts, and many other things that are wildly inappropriate content for kids — all funded by taxpayer dollars.

Public and school libraries are largely controlled by unelected bureaucrats. According to England, librarians often answer to no one and operate under the influence of the American Library Association (ALA), which supports unrestricted access for minors to adult materials and promotes ideas rooted in discredited Kinsey-style views on childhood sexuality. The ALA’s official stance is that any content available to adults should be available to children. These books aren’t about puberty or biology, England explains. They’re about sexualizing children and advancing a radical ideological agenda. One former librarian in Oregon quit her job rather than comply with a mandate to stock these books. Many others, England says, remain silent out of fear.

The good news? Parents now have tools to push back. TakeBackTheClassroom.com allows parents to search their school’s library and view the inappropriate books it carries — with excerpts included.

There’s a big difference between education books on human development and those pushing graphic sexual content and ideological messages. These books desensitize children, undermine family values, and even portray traditional families negatively.

Exposing kids to this type of material amounts to grooming, plain and simple. It’s no surprise that more children are identifying as LGBTQ+ as a result. The solution? Parents must get involved. Parents, grandparents, and any concerned citizens should visit Take Back the Classroom’s website database, get in touch with their school and library boards, and take local action to restore sanity to classrooms and protect kids.
