A recent study from the Journal of Psychiatric Research found that women who choose abortion are over twice as likely to experience psychiatric disorders that require hospitalization than women who choose to keep their babies. In addition, women under age 25 at the time of the abortion, and women who have had multiple abortions, are at an even higher risk for hospitalization. These numbers clearly show the devastating mental effects women experience after this procedure.
The pro-abortion movement ignores the deep regret and pain that many women have after an abortion. Sadly, many realize too late that they aren’t removing a clump of cells; they are ending their child’s life. This is why it’s so important that our state keep laws that are designed to protect women, ensuring, for instance, that they get information about what abortion really is before they proceed.
