In a recent study, researchers found that the majority of American adults support passing legislation that would make the digital world safer for minors. Seventy-five percent of respondents said they support requiring age verification to access pornographic websites and eighty percent said they support policies that require parental consent before minors can create social media accounts.

This level of support for protecting minors online is encouraging. As the influence and darkness of the digital world increases, we need policies in place that will help protect young people. Wisconsin Family Action is currently encouraging the state Senate to pass Wisconsin’s age-verification bill in 2026. We hope they recognize the importance of taking up this issue.
