In a heart-breaking development, South Australian legislators voted against a bill which would have protected unborn babies at 22 weeks and six days gestation, at which point unborn babies can often survive outside of the womb.

Unsurprisingly, in the lead up to the vote, pro-abortion legislators spread lies and misinformation claiming that protecting unborn life would cause a rise in sepsis, infant deaths, and other medical emergencies.

This is not the only time that legislators have attempted to limit abortion and failed. In 2024 legislation was introduced which would have banned abortion after 27 weeks. The Liberal MP that proposed the bill suggested that children should not be killed but rather delivered prematurely if necessary. Unfortunately, that bill also failed and late-term abortions continue.
