Yesterday we learned that the doctrine of sin, and man’s sin condition, are grounded in the history in Genesis. But so is our hope of the gospel!

In Genesis 3:15, God promised Eve that from her would come the Seed who would crush Satan—and that Seed is Jesus!

Jesus came as a descendant of Adam to die in our place, taking our sin penalty of death for us. Now, some Christians don’t believe Adam and Eve really lived. But think about this—why did Jesus need to come as a man, and die a physical death for our sin, if a man didn’t bring physical death into the world by his sin?

It’s only when we believe God’s Word, from the very first verse, that the gospel makes sense!
