The New Testament is filled with warnings to be watchful, to avoid false teachers. That was true back then and it’s still true today. Many who claim to be Christians are nothing but false teachers, leading God’s people astray. So, how can we watch for them?

The Apostle Paul tells us to “test the spirits to see if they are from God, for many false teachers have gone into the world.” When we hear a teaching, we can’t just blindly accept it. We need to test it. But by what standard? Well, how do we know anything authoritative about God? By his Word!

God’s Word is his revelation to us. We must compare everything we hear against it!
